I’ve been on the market for a new carry-on sized suitcase for quite awhile now, so when Level 8 reached out to me and offered to send one of their products to review I was so excited. 

I travel often and as much as I hate flying, I spend a lot of time in airports. Level 8 has perfectly sized carry-on suitcases that I was very eager to try out. 

So in this post I dive into all the specs on this suitcase to tell you whether or not this brand is going to be my new go-to luggage, or if it’s not worth the hype.

Suitcase Overview 

I received the 20″ Luminous Textured Carry-On in the color Olivine Green. It’s on the market for $169.99.

So for this review I will only be reviewing my experience with this specific suitcase. However, there are several other options on the Level 8 website. Most of them are pretty similar, but some have little extra features or slight differences in the design. 

First Impressions on Level 8 Suitcases

When I first unboxed the suitcase, the first thing I noticed was that it was much lighter than I had imagined. Initially I thought that this may mean it was lower quality, but I was highly mistaken. 

I was very pleased with the overall aesthetic of the suitcase. I love the simple and pure design with the textured hard shell. 

The suitcase also comes in a nice cloth bag with a drawstring which I kept to repurpose as a dirty clothes bag when I travel. Just to get a little more bang for your buck.

Features I Love About the Level 8 Suitcase:

• TSA approved lock. All of the Level 8 suitcases come with a TSA approved lock. Whether you get a large luggage for a check bag or a smaller carry-on sized one. Even though I only have the carry-on and don’t necessarily need to have a lock on it, I find it helpful for peace of mind. If I ever need to leave the suitcase in my hostel dorm I know my belongings will be safe. The lock was also very easy to set with my own combination. 

• 4 smooth moving swivel wheels for easy transportation. I’ve never had a suitcase before that had 4 wheels, only the 2 wheeled ones. And having 4 wheels is an absolute game changer, especially in the airports. You don’t have to tilt the suitcase to get it to roll as it’s already standing on its wheels. The wheels also glide so smoothly.
• The design is sleek and neutral. The Level 8 brand takes pride in having stylish products while also being durable and practical for a traveling lifestyle. I love the look of this suitcase.
• Hard shell exterior for protection. When I travel I typically only use my suitcase for clothing. However, it’s nice to know that if I did ever need to fill it with more valuables like my laptop, it will be safe and protected. Previously I have only owned cloth suitcases that I wouldn’t feel good about keeping fragile or breakable items in. Especially since luggage can often bounce around up above in the overhead bins while flying. 
• Telescopic handle. Whether you’re tall or short you’ll find the perfect handle height for you. There are four levels to keep the handle at. 
• All the different compartments for easy organization. I love having 4 different compartments in this suitcase. There are 2 smaller ones in which I put my socks/underwear in one and tank tops/bikinis in the other. Then I put all my shirts in one of the larger compartments and all my pants/shorts in the other. The zippers are also nice because everything stays perfectly in place even while being rolled around.

Any Complaints About the Level 8 Suitcase?

I am overall very pleased with my Level 8 suitcase and I don’t have any real complaints about it.

I would have liked more color shade options to choose from initially, but I am coming to fall in love with the Olivine Green that I got. 

My Experience Using Level 8 Suitcase for Traveling

This suitcase is absolutely perfect for the airport. The wheels smoothly, easily, and quietly glide across the floor as I’m walking from terminal to terminal. 

Since the suitcase is so lightweight, it makes it easy for me to lift it up over my head and into the overhead bin on the plane. Especially if you only fill it with clothes and no heavy electronics, you will have no problem lifting it up. 

It also fits perfectly in the overhead bins so there’s no hassle at all dealing with the gate staff to make sure your carry-on is small enough.

It’s also handy to be able to set my small backpack on top of the suitcase and around the handle for easy transportation of all my baggage. 

Even if you’re not using it in an airport, it’s so easy to transport around. It was a joy traveling with this suitcase.

How Many Outfits Can I Fit in the Suitcase?

I try to travel light, but I end up wanting to pack as many different outfits as I can for every possible occasion. Luckily with the Level 8 suitcase, you can practically stuff it to the brim with no problem.

I was able to fit 6 pairs of pants, 6 pairs of shorts, 1 dress, 6 tank tops, 5 long sleeve shirts, 6 short sleeve shirts, 7 pairs of socks and underwear and 2 bikinis in the suitcase.

This was the thing I was most impressed with. I was able to fit in so much more clothing than I could in my previous carry-on suitcase. 

Despite how much I stuffed in, it was still easy to close. And honestly, I think I still have room for a few more items! 

Is the Level 8 Suitcase Worth the Money?

If you’re looking for a sleek and modern suitcase perfect for getting around in airports, then I would highly recommend to you a luggage from Level 8. 

Whether you only fly occasionally or every weekend, a suitcase from Level 8 is a must-have product for you. You can tell these suitcases are high quality, durable, and will last you several years even with frequent use.

I am super happy with this suitcase and definitely consider it a nice upgrade from the one I had previously. So yes, I would say Level 8 suitcases are worth the money if you’re on the market for a high quality suitcase.
